Writing Prompts

The Vampire

Instructions for the Quiz

Write a story about a woman (or a man) who is attacked by a vampire. Use 1st person POV.

The story may—or may not—be complete (with a beginning, middle, and end). In other words, the paragraphs that you write could be part of the beginning, or the middle, or the end—without necessarily telling the whole story.

  • At least two paragraphs (internet style).
    • Skip a line between paragraphs.
    • Do not indent the first line of each paragraph.
  • Use simple past tense.
  • Use 1st Person POV.
    • You can imagine that you are the vampire, or you can imagine that you are the victim. In either case, tell the story from the "I" point of view.
    • Study the example. (Notice the use of the 1st person pronoun, "I").

I waited for her in the dimly-lit alleyway behind her house. I knew she'd be coming home this way. It must have been close to midnight when I finally heard her approaching footsteps.

As she paused at her back door, fumbling in her purse for her keys, I grabbed her from behind, and I sank my fangs into her soft neck.

She was too startled to scream. Her body stiffened, then slowly she went limp in my arms. I picked her up and carried her inside.
