Instructions for the Quiz

Write a long paragraph describing the room in the picture. (at least 6 sentences).

Keep these principles in mind:

  1. Replace linking verbs with stronger verbs, when possible.
    • Objects and plants can sit, stand, lean, hang, cover, grow, lay, shine, adorn, reflect, conceal, display, support, store, organize, etc.
  2. Vary your sentence patterns. Here are but a few of the possibities:
    • A skateboard is under the bed.
    • There is a skateboard under the bed.
    • Under the bed there is a skateboard.
    • Under the bed is a skateboard.
