U.S. History and Geography

   

 

 

Course Description

This course covers the significant events, people, and ideas of U.S. History, from the discovery of the Americas in 1492 to the election of 2016. Special attention is given to the period from 1776 through the end of World War I. All the California State Standards and the Common Core Standards are thoroughly covered.

In addition, students will:

Grades are based on the student's mastery of specific learning objectives. (See "standards based grading").

Objectives are divided into the following categories. Each category is worth 20% of the student's overall grade.

Make-up Work / Late Work

Make-up work and late work will be accepted until the last week of the grading period.

Citizenship

Citizenship grades are a measure of how well the student follows the rules of the classroom. A violation of the rules is called an "infraction".
